part of SV's Vietnam War, the United States men's national soccer team (USMNT) and it's youth teams (U-15, U-17, U-20 and U-23) lead by USMNT coach Bob Bradley assisted by John Hackworth, Thomas Rongen, and Jim Barlow issued a warrant for the removal of then-USWNT coach Greg Ryan for benching and abusing USWNT goalkeeper Hope Solo. Ryan in turn declared that the USWNT, that has won 2 Women's World Cup tournaments, is now in a 'state of war' with the USMNT, fresh of winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup that same year. the United States Youth men's national soccer teams in turn supported Bob Bradley's decision to remove Greg Ryan. in the end the USMNT scored one of history's biggest upsets and succeeded in removing Greg Ryan from the USWNT coaching position and installed sweden's pia sundhage as the new coach
